Gated community · Henderson County
Kenmure
A roughly 1,400-acre gated golf community in Flat Rock whose clubhouse is an antebellum mansion from around 1850, with an 18-hole course designed by Joe Lee.
About Kenmure
Kenmure is a gated community of about 1,400 acres in the Village of Flat Rock, with a staffed entrance around the clock. Development began in the mid-1980s on land that rises from roughly 2,300 feet in the valley to more than 3,000 feet at the upper home sites. The club's centerpiece is the Kenmure Mansion, an 11,000-square-foot antebellum house dating to around 1850 that has been restored as the clubhouse, with wraparound porches, a grill room, formal dining and a wine cellar. The 18-hole course was designed by the Florida-based architect Joe Lee, and Golfweek once named it among the top fifty development courses in the Southeast.
About 700 homes have been built of roughly 900 planned. Lots are heavily wooded and run from under an acre to more than five acres, so homes have space between them. Club amenities include a Toptracer range, indoor and outdoor heated pools, tennis and pickleball courts, bocce, a fitness center and walking and biking trails. Flat Rock's village center, the Carl Sandburg Home and the Flat Rock Playhouse are minutes away, and downtown Hendersonville is a short drive north.
