Old Edwards Club at Highlands Cove
Private club inside the gated Highlands Cove community between Highlands and Cashiers, in Jackson County: Tom Jackson course opened 2000, taken private by Old Edwards Hospitality in 2009.
About Old Edwards Club at Highlands Cove
Old Edwards Club sits inside Highlands Cove, a gated community between Highlands and Cashiers. Although it is usually listed under Highlands, the land lies across the county line in Jackson County, and the club itself uses a Cashiers address. Tom Jackson of Greenville, South Carolina built the course in 2000 as a public, bent-grass layout of 6,699 yards, par 71. Old Edwards Hospitality Group, owner of the Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, bought the course in 2008, closed it to the public that November, and reopened it in May 2009 as a private club after rebuilding tees, reworking holes and renovating the 15,000-square-foot clubhouse and tennis courts.
Memberships are limited and by invitation, extend two generations in each direction, and carry privileges at the Old Edwards Inn and Spa in town, including its fitness center, spa and heated mineral pool. Amenities at the club include a restaurant, clay tennis courts, an outdoor heated mineral pool and a fitness center. Lots run from under an acre to about three acres, and the club's tie to the inn makes it the natural choice for buyers who already know Highlands through the hotel.
