The Ramble Biltmore Forest

Biltmore Farms' gated community on about 1,000 acres of Ducker Mountain woodland beside the Blue Ridge Parkway, with a 9,000 sq ft wellness center and miles of trails.

About The Ramble Biltmore Forest

The Ramble is Biltmore Farms' current master-planned community, set on about 1,000 acres of Ducker Mountain woodland in South Asheville, bordering the Town of Biltmore Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Biltmore Farms traces its lineage to George Vanderbilt's 1897 operations, and the land was once his walking ground, which is where the name comes from. The community was established in 2005. It is gated, with a staffed gatehouse at Valley Springs Road, a second entry at Racquet Club Road and a southern gate on Ramble Way; trails through that south gate lead to Biltmore Park Town Square.

Homes are custom-built by a roster of approved builders, and the guidelines favor natural materials, keeping mature trees in place and keeping each house in proportion to its site. Homesites range from small garden parcels to multi-acre ridge lots, some fronting woodland or the Parkway buffer. Shared spaces include the 9,000-square-foot Living Well Center with a heated saline pool, fitness studio, lighted tennis court, pickleball and bocce; Longmeadow Park with a pavilion, natural amphitheater, playground and playing field; and the Buck Spring Cabin, once part of Vanderbilt's Buck Spring Lodge and now a gathering place. Several miles of walking trails, including those along Dingle Creek, run through the woods.
